Because crime doesn’t pay (enough).

Commercial law wasn’t always the obvious choice—but as my experience grew, so did my realisation that this area of law offers a unique intersection of strategy, structure, and real-world impact. It’s about more than just contracts and compliance (though I do love a good indemnity clause); it’s about helping businesses grow, adapt, and succeed in an increasingly complex world.

A World in Motion

From my early career to my work to my "bridging" career in clinical and governance teams, I’ve always been drawn to fast-paced, high-stakes environments. In commercial law, the “battlefield” may be a boardroom rather than a war zone, but the stakes are still high—deals to be won, risks to be managed, futures to be secured. The decisions made behind the scenes shape entire industries.

That blend of intellectual challenge and tangible consequence is what pulls me in.

Strategy Meets Law

Commercial law isn’t just about knowing the rules—it’s about knowing how to use them. It’s where legal advice becomes commercial strategy. I’m fascinated by the dynamics of negotiation, the structure behind complex transactions, and the role lawyers play not as obstacles, but as enablers of business.

And, let’s be honest—the Magic Circle didn’t get its name from doing charity work.
(We’re not just in it for the robes and wigs. We’re in it for the revenue.)

Real Experience, Real Ambition

Through my roles leading operational transformations in a national health screening programme, global healthcare operations, and my ongoing legal studies, alongside a frankly mind spinning range of other courses to help set me apart from my competition, I’ve had the chance to see how law functions at both the coalface and the command post. I’ve helped small businesses navigate compliance, supported efficiency improvements in healthcare, and embedded governance into live services.

This hands-on foundation, paired with a long-term goal of qualifying and practising within a Magic Circle or leading City firm, continues to shape my path. I’m building a legal career that’s grounded in business understanding, operational experience, and a drive to make law work for those who depend on it—whether they’re scaling startups or negotiating international deals.

Next up: I’ll be sharing insights into the tools I use to stay sharp (and sane) while working and studying—all at the same time.

Let’s just say the coffee budget is also commercial in scale.
